11U Upland Pop Warner vs Eastvale Pop Warner Highlights
On a relatively hot 🌞 Saturday afternoon for October, the Upland Pop Warner organization came to Eastvale Pop Warner's home field at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California. Both Upland Pop Warner and Eastvale Pop Warner have longstanding programs with a ton of tradition, presenting a healthy mid-season match-up for both programs. 🏈💯
We were excited to drop in to watch some good football as it has been been rumored that both programs had strong run attacks with explosive playmakers on both sides capable of breaking the game wide open. We decided to hone in on the 11 & Under matchup to get a view of how the Mt. Baldy conference foes fared against each other. We were not disappointed....
Hype Grand on a QB Scramble
The first score of the game came when recent Upland Pop Warner team addition, Hype Grand fielded a risky punt and returned it for a touchdown. Despite the momentum booster by Upland, Eastvale managed to hold steadfast with solid defense before punching in a score of their own late in the second quarter. Upland was able to make a few plays on the perimeter with its speedy backfield, but Eastvale's defense kept them honest, not allowing them to make too many big plays.
The Mt. Baldy conference is one of the toughest in all of Pop Warner and we witnessed why while watching this defensive battle between two very well coached teams. Upland eventually pulled ahead, winning 19-6, but these two teams will definitely meet again with Eastvale hoping to balance the scales. Good luck to both of these squads in the rest of their season play.
