How To Achieve Any Goal - Goal Setting For Athletes (Or Anybody)
It’s very important as an athlete to be able to set goals in order to give yourself something to strive towards. The above chart is an example goal setting chart for an offensive lineman looking to reach a new weight goal. Any goal can utilize the same structure in the pursuit of a short-term or long-term goal. Every goal requires a plan of action in order to achieve it. Setting a goal without any action plan is like a sailor setting sail for see without a map. You are bound to get lost and end up somewhere that you do not want to be….or worse, nowhere at all!
Mapping out a strategic plan when goal-setting allows for you to truly understand what will be required in order to hit your target, along with prepare your mind for what’s ahead in order to achieve your desired results. There are multiple aspects that an athlete can map out a plan in order to achieve their goals. That can be from reaching some sort of nutrition goal (cutting weight or trying to gain muscle mass) or setting your sights on a certain group of colleges and doing what is required in order to get there.
Goal setting applies to everything from nutrition to academics.⠀⠀⠀
